Sustainability is at the heart of Carolina de Barros Jewellery. All precious metals used are 100% recycled, repurposed from old jewellery, electronics, and other industrial byproducts, sourced from RJC-certified suppliers.
Her gemstones and pearls are ethically sourced, hand-picked for their quality, and each pearl is entirely unique.

Carolina is committed to supporting local craftsmanship, with each piece handmade in her London studio and cast by a family-run business that has passed down its know-how through generations. This local, slow production model reduces carbon emissions and supports her community.

Packaging is also carefully considered, it is plastic-free, recyclable, and certified by the FSC, ensuring that no more wood is cut down than the forest can reproduce. Carolina believes that sustainability is an ongoing journey, and she is always seeking new ways to refine my practices.

Carolina de Barros ' jewellery pieces are often irregular and textured, this is intentional and a fundamental part of the design.
They advise not to use beauty products such as perfume and lotions near the jewellery.
Please be careful to avoid exposing jewellery to household chemicals and cleaning products, which may also damage the stones and metal.
To maintain the finish, keep your jewellery stored clean and dry.

To remove any tarnish on silver jewellery, you can use a polishing cloth or even a soft toothbrush with some mild detergent. Make sure to rinse your jewellery well afterwards.

All of Carolina de Barros’ gold plated jewellery is made of 925 sterling silver with a layer of 3 micron 18ct gold plating. Gently polish by hand with a clean cloth or bring it to your local jeweller for an ultrasonic clean. The more you wear your jewellery, the more the top layer eventually wears off.

Carolina works with natural gemstones, for that reason, inclusions and colouring can differ from stone to stone. All Freshwater Pearls used in her jewellery are unique, shapes and sizes are all different. The gems in the jewellery can crack or break if dropped against a hard surface, so careful handling is recommended.

Many of our pieces are made to order so it may take some time for them to be delivered - above you can see when your piece is likely to arrive. If you do need a piece for a specific date, please do not hesitate to reach out to us on: info@shopgolden.co and we will see what we can do.
